Classroom Rules and Expectations
Mr. Wicktor - Room 120
Classroom Expectations and rules: following these rules will help you be successful in class.
1. Personal Responsibility - You need to be in class when the bell rings. Bring all your materials everyday. do not rely on other students or the teacher to do that for you. Assignments are to be done and turned in on time.
2. Attitude - Keep a positive attitude in class. Follow directions and help out the teacher and fellow students when asked.
3. Respect - If it’s not your property leave it alone. Don’t bring notes, books, or assignments from other classes into this one to work on. When the teacher or other students are talking respect their opinions and listen until it’s your turn. Be open to new people and different ideas than your own. do not use abusive or profane language. Most Importantly, do not pick on, humiliate, or harass others!!!
Consequences: These may not necessarily be used in order. It depends on the student’s behavior and the teacher’s discretion.
1. Verbal warning or redirected.
2. Talked to after class.
3. Removed from class (either into the hall, another
teacher’s room, or to the office).
4. A call to the parent or a meeting with the parent.
5. A staffing, where the Principal, counselor, and
student’s other teachers are all present.
* I agree to abide by these guidelines to make my class a better learning environment for myself and others. I also understand that severe disruptive behavior demands immediate removal from the classroom.
Miscellaneous Things:
-If you miss class it is your responsibility to find out what
you missed (i.e. notes, worksheets, quiz, etc.). Please do this
at the beginning or end of class by talking to me or other
students.
-When turning in work because of an absence you will have two
days for every day absent to get the work in. This does not go
for projects. They are due on a certain day regardless of
whether you were absent. If you are gone on the day the project
is due, you must turn it in the first day back.
-Also when turning in work because you are absent, write the
word absent and which date(s) that was.
-There are grading boxes on my desk by hour. If you are absent
or turning in late work, put the material in the right class hour.
if you don’t put your name on your assignments I will throw
them away and you will have to do the work over.
-All assignments, notes, tests, quizzes, and projects should
be kept in your folder until the end of the quarter so you have
proof if any discrepancy arises between your records and the
grade book.
Grading - Will be based on daily work, vocab quizzes, tests,
and quarterly projects. There is daily work that will be
done in class. Every chapter or unit has a vocab quiz and
a test. Every quarter the students will be doing a different
project that is worth 15-20% of their grade. All material
is given a point value. At the end of the quarter the points
will be tallied and transferred into grades. The grades are
shown below. For everyday that an assignment is late
student’s lose 10% of the points. That’s 10% off after it
is graded under normal circumstances.
